China University of Geosciences (CUG), established in 1952, is a national key university affiliated with the Ministry of Education. It is also listed in the National “211 Project” and the “Double First-class Plan”. CUG, featuring geosciences, is a comprehensive university that also offers a variety of degree programs in science, engineering, literature, management, economics, law, education and arts. Its Geology and Geological Resources & Engineering have both been ranked as national number one disciplines.
CUG has two campuses: Nanwang Mountain Campus and Future City Campus, both located in the Wuhan East Lake National Innovation Demonstration Zone. Together, they cover a combined area of 1,479,658.51 m2. CUG features modern teaching buildings, libraries, student apartments, sports facilities, including the Yifu Museum, the only national 4A-level tourist attraction among all Chinese universities.
CUG has 2,209 faculty members and 1,094 staff members. Among the faculty members, 13 are members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 1 is the member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. And there are 751 PhD supervisors, 555 professors, and 984 associate professors at CUG. Besides, CUG has 5 innovative research groups of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 3 innovation teams of the Ministry of Education, 6 national-level teaching teams, 2 national-level outstanding teachers, and 15 provincial outstanding teachers.
CUG has 86 affiliated institutions, laboratories and institutes (centers). Among them, there are 3 state key laboratories, 1 national research center for engineering technology, 1 national field scientific observation and research station, 1 national and local joint engineering laboratory, 1 international science and technology cooperation base, 1 international joint research center, 2 national platforms for innovation of advantageous disciplines, and 1 demonstration base of innovative talent cultivation of the Ministry of Science and Technology, 3 national demonstration centers for experimental teaching, and 1 national center for experimental teaching of virtual simulation.

Wuhan University of Technology (WUT) is a state key university directly affiliated to the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. WUT is among the first batch of universities which have entered the national “211 Project” and China’s “Double-First Class” Initiative. WUT is jointly developed by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Transport. As the university directly affiliated to the Ministry of Education which cultivates the largest amount of talents in three major industrial sectors, namely, building and construction materials, transportation, and automobile industries, WUT becomes an important base for the cultivation of high-level scientific talents and technological innovation for the three industrial sectors.
WUT has three main campuses, including Mafangshan campus, Yujiatou campus and the South Lake campus, with a total land area of 2.67 million square meters and a total gross floor area of 1.95 million square meters. Currently, WUT has over 60,000 faculty and students, 26 academic schools, 5 independently established research institutes, 3 industry-education integration demonstration bases established in collaboration with local governments, and 4 modern libraries with a collection of 4.16 million books. Since 2000, WUT has been awarded over 20 national science and technology prizes, ranking in the forefront of all Chinese colleges and universities. In 2019, WUT was listed in Times Higher Education World University Rankings, U.S. News Best Global Universities Rankings, Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s Academic Ranking of World Universities and QS Asia University Rankings.

Publishing monthly, Nature Energy is dedicated to exploring all aspects of this on-going discussion, from the generation and storage of energy, to its distribution and management, the needs and demands of the different actors, and the impacts that energy technologies and policies have on societies. We have a particular interest in studies that advance our knowledge and inform the development of next-generation technologies and solutions. Nature Energy provides a forum for all parties active at the frontiers of energy to come together and learn about the different facets of this sector.
Like all Nature-branded journals, Nature Energy is characterized by a dedicated team of professional editors, a fair and rigorous peer-review process, high standards of copy-editing and production, swift publication and editorial independence. In addition to publishing original research, Nature Energy will publish Comments, Perspectives, Reviews, News & Views, Features and Correspondence from across the full range of disciplines concerned with energy.

Nature Nanotechnology is an interdisciplinary journal that publishes papers of the highest quality and significance in all areas of nanoscience and nanotechnology. The journal covers research into the design, characterization and production of structures, devices and systems that involve the manipulation and control of materials and phenomena at atomic, molecular and macromolecular scales. Both bottom-up and top-down approaches — and combinations of the two — are covered.
Nature Nanotechnology also encourages the exchange of ideas between chemists, physicists, material scientists, biomedical researchers, engineers and other researchers who are active at the frontiers of this diverse and multidisciplinary field. Coverage extends from basic research in physics, chemistry and biology, including computational work and simulations, through to the development of new devices and technologies for applications in a wide range of industrial sectors (including information technology, medicine, manufacturing, high-performance materials, and energy and environmental technologies). Organic, inorganic and hybrid materials are all covered.

Nature Materials is a monthly multi-disciplinary journal aimed at bringing together cutting-edge research across the entire spectrum of materials science and engineering. Materials research is a diverse and fast-growing discipline, which has moved from a largely applied, engineering focus to a position where it has an increasing impact on other classical disciplines such as physics, chemistry and biology. Nature Materials covers all applied and fundamental aspects of the synthesis/processing, structure/composition, properties and performance of materials, where "materials" are identified as substances in the condensed states (liquid, solid, colloidal) designed or manipulated for technological ends.

Nature Catalysis brings together researchers from across all chemistry and related fields, publishing work on homogeneous catalysis, heterogeneous catalysis, and biocatalysts, incorporating both fundamental and applied studies. We have a particular interest in applied work that advances our knowledge and informs the development of sustainable industries and processes. Nature Catalysis provides coverage of the science and business of catalysis research, creating a unique journal for scientists, engineers and researchers in academia and industry.
