Zhejiang Lab

Zhejiang Lab (hereinafter referred to as ZJ Lab), a non-profit research institution, was established on September 6, 2017 based on the collective efforts of Zhejiang Province, China. With its research focus on intelligent computing, ZJ Lab aims at three major strategic needs for strategic sci-tech frontiers, scientific research paradigm revolution, and innovation of strategic industry advancement. It serves as an innovation source that supports the innovative development in Zhejiang, and strives to become a world-leading scientific and technological innovation base. ZJ Lab promotes the open science principles of collaboration, sharing, and co-construction.
Intelligent computing has brought about a new computational revolution in the era of big data, cloud computing and AI. As a form of computing, it is characterized by the convergence of compute-intensive, data-driven, and model-based paradigms. ZJ Lab explores forefront issues such as the limits of computing power, intelligence and perception, and reinforces the foundations of intelligent computing with technological breakthroughs in core hardware and software, so as to create a high-performance, high-efficiency and energy-efficient computing system. By practicing “Computing for Innovation”, ZJ Lab also contributes to the exploration of cutting-edge technologies and social development through systematic innovations and breakthroughs.
